Solid Food, Part Deux

Carrots! In easy-to-digest liquid form. But wait, then it isn't solid food, is it? Hmmm.... In any case, Mom fed me these liquid carrots:
I decided I didn't like them, so I puked them all up, together with the formula meal I had 2 hours previously:
I had to take a bath afterwards. Turns out the bath was a good thing, as Mirabelle came over today. I tried to woo her by holding her hand and staring lovingingly into her eyes. I don't think it worked very well, she just ended up crying a lot.

Toes

Can.. almost.. reach.. mouth..!

Immune system 1, bacteria 0

I'm just recovering from my first cold, given to me lovingly by Mom. It wasn't too bad, just a light cough and a bit of wheezy breathing. My immune system definitely kicked some ass and took some names. Mom was sicker than I.

Mom & Dad went to Vegas this past weekend for my Mom's second 29th birthday. Grandmom, Great Aunt Jane, and Ferra looked after me in their absence. Jennica (my cousin) was jealous of all the attention I was getting.

It was too bad I couldn't go to Vegas with the 'rents. I've been reading up on optimal blackjack play. Oh well, maybe next time.

4 Months Young!

It's been an interesting week! Dad has been taking care of me most of the time because Mom has been laying around the house rubbing her nose with lots of little disposable burp cloths. She has something called a 'cold'. I don't know what this 'cold' is, but it doesn't involve skiing and sledding. I miss puking on her. Sigh.

I turned 4 months old a few days ago! Woo Hoo! I've come a long way, baby. This is me at just a few minutes old:And now:
<<<>>>>
My current stats are: 14lbs 5oz in weight and 2'2" tall. I'm really tall and svelte like my Dad. I'm in the 85th percentile in height and in the 45th percentile in weight. Yet I still have a second chin, go figure.

Solid Food!

My climb up the food chain has started! Look out, ecosystem! I'm still vegetarian for now, but cows, pigs, and chickens had better run for the hills while they still have the chance.

Actually, the "solid food" my parents are giving me isn't very solid. It is more like the gruel that they gave inmates at Alcatraz. I'm decidedly ambivalent about the taste:
It's made from processed rice and could be used to spackle something. Here is mom spackling me with it.
I'm still trying to figure out how to swallow the stuff. Most of it just ends up scattered about my face, the burp cloth, the boppy, the couch, etc. It was pretty dumb of Mom and Dad to get the laundry room remodeled this week!

What I did on my summer vacation

Howdy all! I know it has been a while since I have posted, but the parental units took me on a vacation to the New Jersey shore to visit the grandparents. The grandparents have this antequated internet connection called "AOL dialup" that made it next to impossible to post anything while on vacation.

I hung out at the beach:and did some Sudoku:
and hung out with the family (that's Grandmom and Granddad, my Uncle Paul and Aunt Chris, and my cousins David and Sarah):
and met this really large bug that decided to be our hood ornament for the week:

I gave the 'rents an easy time on the trip and slept during most of both plane rides. I'm hoping that by being good on this trip, I'll trick the parents into taking me on lots of other trips.

When we got back home, I found out we have a new family member! She's like Boo (our cat), only a lot bigger. She likes to eat bones and lick my face a lot. Dad doesn't like her much, but I don't mind as the licking causes a net loss of slobber from my face.

Today I had another encounter with Eliza, the monstrous doctor's assistant that keeps poking me with lots of sharp objects. She got me again with 4 of them today. Why do my parents keep taking me back there?!? I hope they aren't in league with that lady. For instance, if I find out they've signed a release allowing her to poke me with all of those needles, they're in for a serious beating.

The doc officially cleared me for solid food. Not that I haven't sneaked the occasional handful while the 'rents weren't looking. The 'rents are looking forward to the longer sleeps that solid food will cause, and I'm looking forward to some solid poo.
